He Huia Kaimanawa
Maori Language Expo

The inaugural Maori Language Expo/He Huia Kaimanawa is being held at Te Rauparaha Arena, Porirua, 15/16 October 2009. He Huia Kaimanawa includes three events - He Whakairinga Kupu (Maori Language Symposium); Nga Whetu Koea (a showcase exhibition); and, Nga Tohu Reo Maori 2009 (Maori Language Awards 2009). Nga Tohu Reo Maori are in their sixth year and celebrate innovative efforts to promote te reo Maori.

We hope 2009's theme, Te Reo i te Hapori, has encouraged all New Zealanders to promote te reo Maori in the community - now we are moving to celebrate the Maori Language Awards 2009!
