‘Tourism – Tapoi’ is the theme of Maori Language Week to be held in the last week of (23-29) July this year.
A launch event is being held at the offices of Te Taura Whiri on 19 April in association with Tourism New Zealand, the Maori Tourism Council, local tourism operators, Te Puni Kokiri and the Human Rights Commission.
Efforts this year are aimed at inspiring the tourism sector and keen Kiwi organisation’s to get on board using the catchphrase ‘He Korero mo Aotearoa – On the road with te Reo’.
There will also be a focus on encouraging use of the greeting ‘Kia ora’.
