Huia Te Reo Summary

Huia Te Reo is an annual event organised and managed by Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori to discuss, showcase and celebrate Maori language innovation and success occurring across the country. There are two elements to the event: the first is an exhibition (Friday 08 October) where organisations across the country are invited to display the various initiatives and projects they undertake to revitalise the language. This will also include presentations & interactive workshops throughout the day; the second is the Maori Language Awards (Saturday 09 October) where excellence and long term commitments to Maori language are recognised and celebrated.

Huia Te Reo will be held at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre from 8-9 October 2010.

Maori Language Week was made possible through the support of:
Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori – Maori Language Commission
