Te Wiki o te Reo Maori 2008 - Maori Language Week
Maori Language Week will be celebrated this year 21 - 27 July 2008.
Originally the week occurred around the time of Maori Language Day (September 14). It was moved to its current time to fit in with the school year.
Te Wiki provides a time for special events to celebrate and promote the Maori language. More recently, awards have been given to groups that make a particularly noteworthy contribution at this time.
The theme for Te Wiki o te Reo Maori 2008 - Maori Language Week is Te Reo i te Kainga - Maori language in the home. Watch out for the special 'Korero Maori' booklet later this year that will support you to speak Maori at home.
